Βιογραφία

Γεννήθηκε στον Πεντάλοφο Έβρου.

Η αγάπη του για την γκάιντα τον παρακίνησε στην ενασχόληση, καταγραφή και προσωπική επαφή όλων των τελευταίων γκαϊντατζήδων στον Έβρο και όχι μόνο. Πρώτοι του δάσκαλοι στην γκάιντα ήταν οι χωριανοί του Θεόδωρος Νταλούκας και Αγοράστης Φεξής.

Ζει μόνιμα στη Θεσσαλονίκη όπου ασχολείται αποκλειστικά με τη μουσική αλλά και την κατασκευή της θρακικής γκάιντας, καθώς επίσης και με το ακορντεόν και τα κρουστά.

Είναι κάτοχος ειδικού πτυχίου αρμονίας και ήταν ο δάσκαλος πολλών νέων γκαϊντατζήδων. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πληθώρα πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων και σεμιναρίων σε Ελλάδα και εξωτερικό. Είναι ο ιδρυτής του γνωστού πλέον φεστιβάλ γκάιντας που διοργανώνεται κάθε χρόνο στον Πεντάλοφο Έβρου, και υπήρξε συνδιοργανωτής σε άλλα πανελληνίως γνωστά φεστιβάλ γκάιντας.

Bio (English)

He was born in Pentalofos, Evros.

His love for the gaida (traditional Thracian bagpipe) led him to engage in the study, documentation, and personal contact with many of the last remaining gaida players in the Evros region and beyond. His first teachers of the gaida were his fellow villagers Theodoros Dtaloukas and Agorastis Fexis.

He lives permanently in Thessaloniki, where he is exclusively involved with music, as well as with the construction of the Thracian gaida, while also working with the accordion and percussion instruments.

He holds an advanced degree in harmony and has taught many younger gaida players. He has participated in numerous cultural events and seminars in Greece and abroad. He is the founder of the now well-known Gaida Festival, organized every year in Pentalofos, Evros, and has also co-organized other nationally recognized gaida festivals throughout Greece.
